John Lincoln Clem (August 13, 1851 – May 13, 1937) was a United States Army general who took the roll of a drummer boy in the Union Army during American Civil War. He was well known for his bravery on the battlefield and he was the youngest noncommissioned officer in Army history.

Orion Perseus Howe was one of the youngest boys to receive of the Medal of Honor for his time and service during the Civil War as a drummer boy in the Union. He was given the medal on April 23, 1896.
